Provider Organizations

Larry Trout is a RCO Personal Agent (PA). For customers who choose to work, Larry helps his customers to find employment. Larry does his best to get customers what they want and need to have more freedom in their lives. He uses Person Centered Planning (PCP) to learn as much about the customer’s abilities, likes and dislikes, what works for the customer, and what doesn’t work. Larry then tries to identify any problems such as health and safety issues, or the need for ongoing supports. The customer can choose to work competitively in a community setting or within a Provider Organization.

Larry assists customers by setting up and attending appointments with Vocational Rehabilitation. These meetings include intake, progress updates, problem solving, coordinating supports based on customer needs, assessments, job development/job coaching, monitoring progress and preparing for ongoing needed support to keep a job.

Larry will help find Provider Organizations for customers who choose a more controlled work setting. He then arranges tours for the customer. Customers can choose where they would like to work. The customer and the Provider Organization sign a Service Agreement, which is a contract between them that lists the supports to be provided, schedules to be worked, needs that will be met, rules to be followed, etc.

Larry works closely with the customer and the staff of the Provider Organization to ensure that the customer’s support service funds are being used for what the customer wants while meeting his/her needs.

One Provider Organization that Larry uses is Spruce Villa. Larry works closely with Spruce Villa to see that RCO customer’s needs are meet. An example of a support that Spruce Villa helps RCO customer’s with is transportation to get to work. For some customers a bicycle is a good answer.

Spruce Villa works with the Community Cycling Center . It has a program called “Create a Commuter”. The Create a Commuter pro-gram provides low-income adults with a fully-outfitted commuter bike, complete with lights, lock, helmet, rack, rain gear and all other accessories needed to be successful commute year-round. The program also includes a mandatory five hours safety training concerning commuting and maintenance. This is one great way RCO and Spruce Villa have worked together to help our customers meet a need. If you are interest-ed in the Create a Commuter program please contact your Personal Agent to find out if you qualify for this program. Other Provider Organizations are Garten Services, Goodwill Industries, Rock-west Training Company, Shangri-La, and Mid Valley Rehabilitation Center.
