Wednesday Night Activities Group 7:00-9:00 PM at
Abacus House 625 NE Galloway McMinnville , OregonEach Wednesday evening a group of adults, who happen to have developmental disabilities, get together for activities and fellowship. For many of these individuals, this is the only opportunity they have to socialize with their peers. That is because they often lead very isolated and lonely lives. The Wednesday Night Out program began offering this alternative in 1999, and we are committed to having it continue. We value membership in
the community for all people.Everybody needs friends…
To hang out with, play games with, listen to music and dance with, and just talk with. Sharing is one of the greatest joys in life.Sometimes it’s hard…
People with disabilities sometimes have a hard time making the social connections most of us take for granted. They also may need a place to congregate. The Wednesday Night Activities Group was designed around these issues. It’s a way of bringing people together in a safe and pleasant environment. The Activities Coordinator plans interesting events people can be involved in. Volunteers interact to assist those that may need some help. Everyone has a great experience, and makes new friends and social contacts.Consequently, everyone feels more connected to the community. Volunteers are always needed to help assist with the program. Are you interested in making some new friends? Join the Wednesday Night Out program for an evening to find out if it is something you would like to do! The generosity of your time in greatly appreciated!
